Indoor antennas work well in areas where the television signal is strong, but reception deteriorates if tall buildings block the signal or if your home is in a valley. With a head for heights you can install and hook up your TV to an outside antenna without the cost of hiring a contractor. Attach the antenna to the antenna pole following the instructions provided. Twist the coax around the antenna pole with one complete turn per foot and secure with electrical tape. Fix to the exterior wall with cable clips spaced 1 foot apart. Keep the coax as straight as possible. Keep the grounding wire running as straight as possible to the grounding block. Make the entry point as close to the television as possible. Attach the coax to the lower connector with an adjustable wrench.

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: After trying several so called omnidirectional antennas we purchased this antenna after reading reviews. The antenna is outstanding. It pulls in strong signals from all the closest towers and we even get some channels from areas beyond miles. Keep in mind digital signals are effected by severe weather much like the small satellite dishes so during bad weather we loose the furthermost signals and some of the closest ones come and go during the worst weather.
We have been through several mid-west severe thunderstorms since I installed this antenna and everything still works like it did out of the box.
Hooking up an indoor antenna like the Mohu Leaf to your TV is pretty easy if you have a relatively modern TV (built in or later). Simply screw the antenna’s coax cable into the “ANTENNA/CABLE” plug on the back of your TV, as shown here.
How to Hook up an Indoor Antenna to a TV by James Clark ; Updated September 28, Connecting an indoor antenna to a TV lets you pick up terrestrial broadcasts without the hassle of mounting an external antenna on the roof or to the side of a building, then running cables indoors. Many indoor antennas include a built-in amplifier to boost the signal.
A single coaxial cable hooks up the antenna to the television with a threaded metal fastener on the end of the cable. Turn off the power to the TV set. Attach the coaxial cable to the output jack on the base of the indoor antenna and connect the othe end to the “RF IN” jack on the back of the TV. Turn the metal fastener on each cable end clockwise to hold it tightly to the antenna and TV.

Introduction The purpose of this section is to provide the information necessary to make rational decisions on products, with the goal being to connect to the Internet from your RV. The idea is to make sure that all of your local devices – computers, tablets, wireless printers, TV, DVR, etc. In a home environment meaning a “fixed” environment only one method is typically used to connect to the Internet – often that is DSL or Cable. This is typically a “cellular router”, meaning that the router can have a cellular aircard plugged into it and use that as a method to connect to the Internet.
Ideally, only the router “knows” about the multiple methods of connecting to the Internet.

The last time I had airwave basic television, rabbit ears were more than just animal body parts and the only broadcast signal was analog. Analog broadcasting is a thing of the past and digital antennas have flooded the market. The Device When you think antenna, what comes to mind? Big metal, large plastic, and lots of wire comes to my mind. As for indoor varieties, bulky units, set-top devices, and blocks are available. What makes the Leaf different?
Well, it looks like a piece of laminated paper with a cable attached. Along the bottom is the coaxial cable connection, slightly thicker than the cable itself at the thickest part of the junction, which tails off into a 6 foot, 75 ohm cable. One side of the antenna is black and the other is white, but the connector and cable are both completely white. Easy to Use The Leaf is simple to set up. Connect the cable to a digital-ready television or relay it through a converter box for older sets, position it on the wall, and program the channels.
Depending on your area, it may take several positions to get the best programming results. The dual-color of the Leaf is an aesthetic option and not a positioning requirement of the antenna; depending on your decor style or personal preferences, the white side can face the room or the black side. The size and thinness of the unit also allow for the antenna to be hidden behind a painting, photo frame, or other wall adornment.
Hooked this up to where the cable came in, split between 6 TV’s and the signal is fine. For the cost of 1 cable bill this antenna is well worth the investment. Lynda Cook Rating Good product does what it says. Jeffrey Kenney Rating This is an amazing upgrade.

I didn’t think it had one, but the manual wasn’t very clear about it. I don’t have cable run to my house so I was looking to try and get some channels through the antenna. Do you have any suggestions about what kind of antenna or digital converter to use? Thanks for your help, I’ve been looking around different threads online and I was getting conflicting information about whether or not this TV had a digital tuner. My advice on a converter is buy what you can afford.
Since it will become your tuner and pretty much the “go to” box for information, make sure it has a schedule function so it will pull down the broadcasted TV listings.

Yes and No depends what you want? This now my 5th and most expensive antenna. I seriously thought about buying it but really wanted a trouble free antenna that I wouldn’t have to play with to get into just the right position to pull in Fox. This is not the antenna for that. I’ve tried maneuvering it all around my apartment and still haven’t been able to pull in fox. At least with my smaller and cheaper antenna after 10 to 15 minutes I’d find a place where it would get Fox and not get hardly anything else.
I’d have to play with it for awhile before a game then reposition it after the game. It does deliver on giving you a better picture. I was really surprised at the quality improvement in the new picture. The picture is sharper and more colorful, it’s a pretty significant improvement in quality. I’m not exactly sure if it’s the antenna’s fault that it won’t pull in Fox, I suspect that there must a be a reason I receive all of the other stations with no problem but I have severe problems with Fox and the other channel that comes from the same tower.
It shouldn’t be distance because all of the TV stations have their towers located on the same hill.

We used two different metrics to determine which antenna performed best. The first was a raw measure of the number of channels it could detect, while the second involved a number of predetermined “problem channels”. For these we consulted a list of channels culled from various forums, for both testing areas, and gauged how well the antennas pulled in each channel.
While the results will vary depending on where you live, we found that, for example, the extra couple of channels the best models received were generally radio broadcasts and further Spanish language offerings. Most of the antennas are based around the same rectangular design, but there was one important consideration: Did the antenna have a long cable, or even better, a detachable one?

If so there are several possibilities. First you want to decide if you want an Inside Antenna or an Outside antenna. If an outside one.. Don’t take a chance on a lightning strike blowing up your radio. First a simple 20 foot wire attached to your radio will work and receive stations on your old radio..
It’s just speaker wire, stripped in halves. I soldered a mini plug to the end of it, and it plugs into the antenna jack on my DX The antenna is actually folded on itself, so it may electrically be a bit longer than 25 ft. It doesn’t work quite as well as the ft. I hear KBC from Europe when it comes in, and hear hams from places like Finland and Spain, so it still brings in enough of the world. An added ‘benefit’ if you can call it that to having an indoor antenna is you don’t have to worry quite so much about static electricity from dry winter wind building up on your antenna and zapping your radio’s RF transistor.
I’m not sure if the Grundig has protection diodes, but a lot of radios don’t. Even with protection diodes added to my radio I am still wary of that
